The Einhorn-Lorenz family – Dave, Erin, Irena and Lazlo – have been Michigan Science Center members for four years. After moving from New York to Detroit with a baby and toddler, the family lived in a downtown apartment and needed a safe place for the kids to play.
“The Michigan Science Center was close by and it was engaging and fun for the kids,” says Erin, mother to Irena, now age 6, and Lazlo, now age 4. “We would hang out in Kids Town for hours.”
While Kids Town is still one of the family’s favorite attractions at MiSci, the children also enjoy discovering new experiences.
“As our kids have gotten older, they find new and different things each time they go,” Erin explains. “Exhibits that might not make much sense to a toddler can be the most fascinating thing to a 6-year-old. We love the Fun Factory, the Mackinac Bridge and the planetarium.”
One of the family’s favorite MiSci memories was also an important milestone. “Irena celebrated her third birthday at the science center and we had a wonderful experience,” Erin recalls.
