Spark! In the Park

Tired of screen time? Looking for science to explore in the great outdoors?  MiSci’s Spark! in the Park program provides an opportunity to get outside and investigate! Participants will meet at Peck Park (Brush St. and E Kirby St.) on Saturdays from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm starting August 1st to explore a different STEM topic each week. These programs are suitable for children ages 6 and up. Students 10 years and older can be dropped off; adults should be present to assist participants under the age of 10.

Space is limited!  10 participant capacity.  Registration fee includes program materials for each participating individual. Adults or siblings who wish to attend, but not participate are free to join.
Cost per participant is $20 ($10 for Members).

Health and Safety

There is no access to a public restroom at Peck Park.  We recommend all participants use the restroom before arriving.

In light of the continued risk of coronavirus infection, participants are required to wear a mask and maintain a physical distance of 6 feet from individuals not in your household.

What to Bring

As this is an outdoor program, we recommend bringing the following items for your child:

Water bottle
Sunscreen
Bug spray
Change of clothes
Snacks
Bandana or rag (to moisten and tie around their neck)

The park has shaded areas that we plan to facilitate our programs in.  In the event of inclement weather, an email will be sent out to registrants regarding the location or cancellation of the program.
