Join us in this interactive adventure where you’ll pretend to be a hungry whale, using specially adapted “teeth” to filter your food. Learn how these gentle giants are uniquely equipped for feeding and explore the incredible adaptations of other sea creatures. It’s a whale of a time you won’t want to miss!
- The Growing Plaque Experiment: Witness Science in Action! Ever wondered why brushing your teeth before bed is so important? Step into our lab and observe a live experiment showing how plaque develops with yeast and sugar. See firsthand the effects of sugar on plaque growth and understand the science behind dental hygiene. This eye-opening demonstration will make you think twice about skipping that nightly brush!
- Lego & Play-Doh Brushing Challenge: Floss Like a Boss! Test your dental skills with our fun and educational Lego and Play-Doh activity. Help us remove “plaque” from between our Lego “teeth” using floss. It’s a hands-on way to learn about the importance of flossing and keeping those pearly whites clean. Perfect for kids and adults alike—because good habits start early!
- Smile Matching Game: Match the Smile to the Right Creature! Think you can tell a crocodile’s grin from a chimpanzee’s smile? Join our exciting game where you’ll match the smiles of humans and animals to their owners. Along the way, discover fascinating facts about how different teeth adaptations help creatures survive and thrive. It’s educational, entertaining, and sure to make you smile!
- Dinosaur Dentist (Sunday, December 8th, 11 AM–3 PM): Travel Back in Time with the Natural History Museum! Unleash your inner paleontologist and explore the world of dinosaur dentistry. Examine real fossils and models of teeth from colossal creatures like the Allosaurus, Spinosaurus, and Tyrannosaurus rex. Learn which teeth were best for munching plants or tearing into meat, and compare them to our own. You’ll be amazed at how our teeth stack up against these prehistoric giants!
