Michigan Science Center Gets Spooky With Two October Evening Events

The Michigan Science Center (Mi-Sci) is offering two evening events in October for adults and families alike.

Mi-Sci “After Dark” – Oct. 22

Mi-Sci opens its doors for an evening of spine-chilling science at After Dark: Halloween, Oct. 22, from 6-10 p.m.

Special guests include Atwater Brewery, Lacey’s Mobile Libations, and Mi-Sci’s very own “Wonder Woman” DJ Lynda Carter. Because the event is too creepy for young audiences, attendees must be 21 and over with proper I.D. to participate.

Those dressed in their best costume will have a chance to win a secret prize and can join in on our one-night-only collection of party games. Guests can also carve up the dance floor, then explore the eerie side of science with our Creepy Chemistry Show.

Also showing for one night only is our IMAX® Laser Show: Stranger Things.

To top it all off, guests and ghouls can experience virtual reality gaming and explore Mi-Sci’s newest interactive exhibit, Level Up: Featuring Electric Playhouse Travels.

Tickets are $15 for members and $25 for non-members. Drink tickets are $10 (limit three for pre-order). Non-alcoholic beverages will be available and are complimentary. Mi-Sci is excited to host food trucks for the evening, with food available for purchase.

Community Trunk-or-Treat – Oct. 28

If your ghosts and goblins look forward to a night of trick-or-treating, you can extend the fun with the Mi-Sci’s Trunk-or-Treat event on Oct. 28 from 6-8 pm.

This event is FREE with reservation and is an easy way for kids to get into their favorite Halloween costumes, explore the spooky side of science and fill their pumpkins and bags with some sweet treats! All Trunk-or-Treat activities and will take place outdoors in the Mi-Sci parking lot, with an indoor rain plan.

The Aramco Traveling Science van will also be on-site featuring spooky experiments like spider spin art and slime making.

“This is by far the best time of year to come to Mi-Sci to make slime” said Dr. Christian Greer, president and CEO of the Michigan Science Center. “We will have lots of Halloween-themed activities and science demos for the whole family to enjoy.
