MICHIGAN SCIENCE CENTER RELEASES ANNUAL FREE EDUCATION GUIDE FOR TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATORS

Twenty-one-page document offers guidance on how to leverage Mi-Sci’s assets to spark curiosity and encourage learning among students in grades K-8

Detroit, Mich., August 2, 2024 – The Michigan Science Center’s (Mi-Sci) recently distributed its annual free Education Guide to teachers and administrators. This 21-page document offers guidance on how to use the museum to spark curiosity in STEM learning among young learners to further education goals and open pathways to career opportunities in STEM.

Educators who download a free copy of the guide by visiting this link will see a full listing of Mi-Sci’s onsite and off-site teaching assets, learning opportunities and exhibits, including how to access Mi-Sci’s 220-plus interactive exhibits, engage in immersive theater experiences, and investigate science phenomena through hands-on activities and experiments. The document is available to parents and guardians who offer at-home learning or would like to find ways to inspire children in the field of science.

“Teachers help shape the future of our society by challenging our children to grow from where they are and reach for the stars as lifelong learners,” said Dr. Christian Greer, president and CEO of Mi-Sci. “We created our Educator Guide to serve as an easily accessible resource that allows teachers to connect with Mi-Sci’s interactive exhibits, engaging programs and talented educators throughout the school year. We want to help bring their curriculum to life and bridge gaps that may prevent their students from discovering new pathways for themselves and achieving their dreams in STEM.”

Mi-Sci is located at 5020 John R. Street in Midtown, Detroit and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday and until 8 p.m. the first Friday of every month. For details visit www.mi-sci.org.
