My name is Marti Morales-Ensign, and I am a Professor in Biology and the Online Director at Adrian College in Adrian, MI. I have taught for 13 years. I teach a variety of courses ranging from Human Anatomy (cadaver and non-cadaver based), Neurobiology, Pathophysiology, Neuropharmacology, and Histology. My research interests are in Otolaryngology, Neurobiology, and Development. My postdoc was at the University of Michigan in the Department of Otolaryngology. I graduated from New Mexico State University with my Master’s and Ph.D. In 2007, I was honored at graduation with the New Mexico State University Alumni Association Outstanding Ph.D graduate award. I also attended the University of Mexico for my BS degree in Biology, and it was first where I first discovered my love for research in Neuroscience. In the past, I have been on several minority support programs such as RISE (Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement; support for graduate work) and MIRT (The Minority International Research Training program; I was on a research grant to travel and work in Nigeria, West Africa). I also performed research at several places like Johns Hopkins University, University of California, Santa Barbara, NASA AIMES, and a few other popular places like so. In my far, far past, I was a military kid and traveled a lot. I greatly enjoy mentoring students and have done so on a variety of research projects. I now have former students as doctors themselves! Currently, I have two elementary aged children who like science like me. In my free time, I like to volunteer at the local theater and watch movies.
