TaiJaune (Tai) Robinson was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, where she was a K-12th grade student within the Youngstown City School District. TaiJaune attended Youngstown Early College for high school, where she obtained her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and Social Sciences from Youngstown State University (YSU) the day before graduating with her High School Diploma in 2012. Once she graduated from high school, TaiJaune began an internship, focusing on lean and six sigma practices while working to obtain her bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. During this time, TaiJaune became a STEM Student Ambassador for YSU where she demonstrated and explained the process of 3D Printing to multiple diverse audiences.
TaiJaune graduated from YSU with her bachelor’s degree in 2015. In 2016, she began her engineering career at General Motors. Throughout her career in automotive, TaiJaune has had the privilege to work on multiple programs as a specification analyst, validation engineer, issue resolution co-chair and currently a design release engineer. Tai has also been an active part of engineering resource groups such as GM Women, General Motors African Ancestry Network, and the Interior Cabin Comfort Diversity Equity and Inclusion Board. In March of 2021, TaiJaune graduated with her master’s degree in Lean Manufacturing from Kettering University.
TaiJaune believes that the only choice you have to make, is the choice to be great. Therefore, she chose to lead by example with creating The Pop-Up Series which connects her love for dance, passion for community and desire for problem solving. Tai also volunteers through Big Brother Big Sisters of Metro Detroit and is a K-College Math Tutor. TaiJaune loves to do community service, stay active through dance, put together 3-D puzzles and bake. Her mission is to simply leave a positive lasting impression on everyone she encounters.
