After 20 years in marketing, Erin Gaiser is celebrating nearly a decade operating her own marketing business. Erin’s focus is nonprofit, cause-related and economic/real estate development initiatives. She is a passionate advocate for Detroit and its cultural institutions. As marketing director for the Michigan Science Center, she is focused on raising the organization’s profile as Michigan’s STEM hub.
Erin recently served as vice president of marketing for MCCI, (Mort Crim Communications), as well as vice president of marketing for Coldwell Banker Weir Manuel. She is well-versed in marketing strategy, launching new web platforms, introducing CRM (Customer Relationship Management), client acquisition, customer retention and social media marketing.
As a member of the founding team for Model D – an online publication focusing on positive Detroit news and development – she helped expand the organization’s coverage into Lansing, Kalamazoo, Cincinnati, Grand Rapids, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo.
After working in music theatre on stage in New York City, Erin returned to Detroit to join NOP Automotive Marketing Research and moderated and managed a national focus group project for the Ford Motor Company. This deeply reinforced the importance of understanding consumer needs and trends. Her subsequent work with ForeSee Results involved creating sophisticated customer satisfaction programs and monitoring the voice of customer.
Erin has provided marketing consulting and strategy for real estate development throughout the Detroit area, most notably, one of the first mixed-use restorations in Detroit, known as “The Lofts of Merchant Row.” Other development work in Orlando, Ferndale, New York, Detroit and elsewhere has provided a solid portfolio in redevelopment, community re-positioning, and nonprofit work.
A graduate of Syracuse University and New York University, Erin maintains her passion for the performing arts while frequently returning to New York. She currently resides in Detroit and proudly supports its evolution.
