Creating Spaces for Women and Girls in STEM

Thank you to everyone who attended our first STEMinista program on March 4 – “Creating Spaces for Women and Girls in STEM,” sponsored by ITC. Approximately 100 STEMinistas representing a variety of industries and companies heard from panelists Dr. Tonya Matthews, president and CEO of the Michigan Science Center; Diane Antishin, vice president of Human Resource Operations at DTE Energy; and Dr. Susan Smyth, chief science officer at General Motors Corporation. Major General Gwendolyn Bingham, Commander of the TACOM Life Cycle Management Command also offered insights into her 30+ year career in STEM.

Several members of the media were in attendance and news outlets including M2 Tech Cast, CBS, and the Detroit Free Press wrote about the program and The STEMinista Project.

If you missed the program, you can still experience it thanks to live-streamed video coverage from DPTV.
