The new educational program is designed for children and families to increase their knowledge of anatomy and health
DETROIT, Mich. — August 6, 2026 — The Michigan Science Center is offering new educational programming, presented by Medline Inc., the largest provider of medical-surgical products and supply chain solutions serving all points of care. The program offers a weekly live dissection series to engage kids and families in an activity on the museum floor that will increase their knowledge of human anatomy and health.
“Insides Out”, presented by Medline, will run every Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
The dissection series will be presented in Mi-Sci’s Learning Launchpad, on the main floor of the museum.
Using Medline supplies, the dissection series will use sheep hearts and other organs that provide parallels to human anatomy so that visitors can attend the series multiple times and see something new each time.
In addition to watching the live dissection, there will be optional hands-on components for kids to engage in such as, coloring sheets, paper models, and stuffed-animal models, allowing kids and families to follow along with the dissection.
“Including health and anatomy education into our programming is part of our mission to put YOU at the center of science,” said Dr. Christian Greer, President and CEO of the Michigan Science Center. “Our goal is to make these demonstrations fascinating, fun and approachable so the kids present are even better prepared to engage with this type of content when they encounter it later in the classroom.”
“Supporting educational opportunities that strengthen our communities is an important part of Medline’s commitment to making healthcare run better,” said Jenny Lee, chief marketing officer at Medline. “Through this partnership with the Michigan Science Center, we’re helping make anatomy and health education more engaging and accessible for families while inspiring the healthcare innovators and caregivers of the future.”
