Detroit, Mich., August 7, 2024– Aramco Americas joins the Michigan Science Center (Mi-Sci) to kick-off their Traveling Science Program for the 2024-2025 school year. The annual free event takes place outside of Mi-Sci’s main entrance Friday, August 23, from 10 a.m. – noon featuring live science demonstrations and hands-on activities. The first 250 people to arrive will receive free admission inside of Mi-Sci for a special day which includes Traveling Science activities. Registration is encouraged for this event and is available at this link.
The program that began in 2012 has expanded to bring interactive science programs into libraries, schools, and community centers throughout Michigan’s Lower and Upper Peninsulas, Ohio and Indiana. This is part of Mi-Sci’s mission to engage as many people as possible in science. For more than a decade, the Traveling Science program has educated thousands of young people and their families curious about science.
“It’s all about meeting people where they are, and Mi-Sci’s Traveling Science can bring a universe of learning directly to you! Our passionate educators regularly engage students and families across Michigan and often get requests to travel to Indiana and Ohio on outreach,” said Dr. Christian Greer, president and CEO. “Through the generous support of Aramco Americas, we can reach curious minds of all ages by providing interactive STEM programs to communities unable to visit the Michigan Science Center in person. It’s a wonderful program that continues to advance our mission of putting people at the center of science in Detroit and beyond.”
