Scout it out!

The Michigan Science Center offers a full array of scouting programs and overnight adventures for both boys and girls from fall through spring.

Our 2013 – 2014 programs include hands-on activities and themed educational programs designed to fulfill badge/pin requirements while providing scouts with a unique experience.

Brownies

Cost: $15 per scout, $10 per adult. Workshops are three hours.

Boy Scouts

Cost: $18 per scout, $10 per adult. Workshops are five to six hours and meet some of the requirements of the listed badge. Certified Merit Badge Counselors will be on-site to verify completion and sign blue cards.

Program notables

  • Scouts should bring a bag lunch to the Michigan Science Center. Time will be scheduled during each workshop for lunch. Food and beverages are also available for purchase in the Cosmic Café.
  • Scouts should wear their scout uniforms.
  • Some workshops do not meet all badge/pin requirements. Please check here to find required pre-requisites.
  • The Michigan Science Center requires a one adult to 10 scout ratio. Additional adults must pay the adult workshop fee.

Roller Coaster

2013-2014 Scout Overnights

Camp-ins at the Michigan Science Center offer scouts hands-on fun in a one-of-a-kind learning environment. Each overnight program includes theme-related activities, a late night snack, nutritious breakfast and a morning Chrysler IMAX® Dome Theater film.

$50 per camper

Senior Girl Scouts

Science of Style: May 16 – 17, 2014, 6 p.m. – 9 a.m.

Create and test beauty and fashion products in this overnight geared to meet most of the requirements of the Senior Girl Scout Science of Style skill-building badge, but open to all girls in grades nine through 12.

Camp-in notables

  • The Michigan Science Center requires a one adult to 10 scout ratio.
  • Both scouts and chaperones must pay the $50 camp-in fee.
  • A minimum of 60 participants are required and a maximum of 100 participants are allowed per camp-in. Balance and final count are due two weeks before date of event.
  • Some camp-ins do not meet all badge/pin requirements. Please check here to find required pre-requisites.

Have a private scout camp-in!

Groups of 60 or more can choose one of our camp-in programs to create an exclusive experience at the Michigan Science Center. Dates are limited and a minimum lead-time of two months is required. Call today!
